Life & Work with Whitney Elizabeth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Elizabeth.

Hi Whitney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a first-generation Atlanta Native, neither of my parents are from here so I spent a lot of my childhood in Los Angeles, CA and Charlotte, NC. In addition to my parent’s hometowns, I have had the pleasure of calling many places home. I graduated from Alabama A&M University with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Marketing in 2010. I was offered a full-time position to work within my field after graduation but decided to go in a different direction. I believed that living abroad and traveling the world before making any long-term commitments to anyone or anything was the better option.

The other places I call home are Incheon, Korea and Oaxaca, Mexico.

I have been working within the Real Estate industry since I was 16 years old. My mom has been heavily involved in the Atlanta real estate market as far back as I can remember and that is how I was introduced into it. A few of my early responsibilities were collecting rents, filing and handling evictions, move out/move in inspections, reviewing lease documents, and so much more. With my mother being in real estate, it was only natural that I bought my first investment property at 19 years old…back then it never occurred to me that buying property was a big deal. My mom bought and sold so many properties that it seemed as normal and regular as breathing…it wasn’t until way later in life that I was able to appreciate all of my early experiences and use them to help others navigate the crazy world of real estate.

After living abroad and working for my older brother who was already an established real estate agent, I felt as if I could help people find happiness through finding them a place to call home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t easy, when I decided to become an agent in 2014 the market was still recovering from the crash of 08. Yes, things were better but many were still stuck in bad situations. Fortunately, I was able to assist many homeowners in these situations because of my experience as a lead negotiator for a law firm that primarily helped homeowners with out of the box solutions such as short sales and loan modifications.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Associate Broker and Realtor. I offer an array of services that include project management for investors, consulting, evictions, tenant placement, short sales, bank valuation disputes, reverse mortgages for investment purposes, 1031 Exchanges and of course traditional buying and selling. My favorite things are negotiating and contract writing.

I am known for being a warrior for/protector of and an educator to my clients. I fight for their best interest at all times and make sure that they have a clear understanding of the process at each stage. One of my goals is to always keep as much money in their pocket as possible whether they are selling or buying.

I’m proud that I have never had a regretful first-time buyer, that I have prevented many sellers from “leaving money on the table”, and that everyone I work with walks away with more understanding of real estate than before they met me.

I think what sets me apart from others is my dedication to staying current on laws and trends within the industry as well as my diverse resume within the industry. I am well versed in every area so there’s really nothing I can’t help any potential client accomplish.

Any big plans?
I am currently working with a lot of investors as their project manager for renovations and full rehabs. I absolutely love this new addition to my business its so much fun. I plan to start my own Project Management firm soon.
