Hi Zhanae , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a creative director, host of the podcast: The Power Is Mine, and a songwriter/entertainer. I go on journeys of self development to assist my audience in overcoming perfection paralysis, finding inner power, and building self love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road, and a lot of the time I can say that the difficulty came in being misunderstood for my intentions or while I was in the thick of things not fully having a guaranteed way out, but still having to believe in myself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For a while, I’ve been known for sharing my life journey and overcoming personal obstacles. During that time I chose to launch my podcast and along the way I’ve decided to explore music, so recently I’ve been working on my Finding My Voice series which started with singing and made it’s way to me writing raps as I’ve grown past my stage fright. I’ve been really proud of my ability to do this publicly because it’s been something that I’ve struggled with for years.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like the best about Atlanta is constantly being surrounded with other creatives that can empower you to go for your dreams and realize that it’s not as far-fetched as you think. What I dislike the most is being surrounded with people that assume there isn’t space for everyone. I’ve seen that no one can be me like I can be me, so I don’t often see other people as my competitors and the lengths that some people will go to just gets to be annoying.
