Meet Joshua Jackson of 4th Quarter Performance in Downtown and Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Jackson.

Joshua, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
At the age of 14, my father passed away. The night of the funeral, my father’s great friend came to me and told me that I was going to come to stay with him during the summer in Atlanta and that we would make it to the NFL. My Godfather Ty “Ropeman” Felder a 30 yr training vet and bodybuilding judge brought me down and it changed my whole outlook of what I wanted to do in life. I went from wanting to be a Graphic Designer to now wanting to train athletes and individuals that just wanted to be pushed to their max potentials.

Fast forward after a great 4 1/2 year run at Appalachian State University football (3x national champs) and a degree in Health Promotions. I took an alternate route after my school days and pursued a career in the Healthcare field that brought me to Grady Memorial Hospital. After almost 2 years with the hospital, my next journey was coming up and may have involved me moving out of GA. I had reached out to my Godfather earlier in the year that I may leave and the day that I had received my offer letter to move, God must have been sitting there because I received a text back from Rope asking did I still want to pursue my personal training dream. Of course, I took up the offer and the rest is history.

7 years later and after learning not only the business of training but also the intricate tools of running a healthy business, competing in bodybuilding shows and training athletes, I have relocated to downtown Atlanta while going full independent with 4th Quarter Performance LLC.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can honestly say no. It definitely has had its ups and downs but I can say that anything worth having is worth going through the storm.

I can say the biggest struggle has to be developing the business mode. Being a former athlete and having the educational background made the transition easy but learning how to train, work with people, having processes and orders has been the challenge. It’s easy to go workout but figuring out how a true passion can be profitable and being independent has definitely been the hassle.

They say its easy to work out but can you translate it to where someone not only understands it but also grasps and can apply it without you being there right beside them every hour. Being an entrepreneur is not glamorous as it had made me miss out on important moments but at the same time I would never trade them because of what I have learned through the journey

So, as you know, we’re impressed with 4th Quarter Performance – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
