Today, we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Davis. Aaron was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented David Bazile.
Hi Aaron, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello, I’m Aaron and I’m a Graphic Designer who specializes in designing Brand Identities. I have to say that my faith in God has been a driving force in my life and helped me navigate through everything that I had to go through to get to this point. As far as being an artist, art has been a part of my life since I could hold a pencil. I always loved to draw but as I got older it is now translating into a deeper desire to create and innovate which is what I believe God put in all of us. This has been evident since I was much younger. I’m always on my toes for new inspiration and creative ideas.
Please tell us more about your brand, A Davis Graphic Design
To be completely honest, although I’ve been a designer for 5 years now, I have always viewed myself as just a freelancer or creator. I am now, since last year, seeing myself as a business owner. I have been designing logos since 2016 and I now specialize in designing full brand identities around logos. Brand Identity Design is all about how a brand is presented to the world and all of the visual elements that make it unique and create brand memorability and customer awareness (think McDonald’s and the golden arches or the colors red and yellow up against each other). My motto for my brand A. Davis Graphic Design is, “forging innovation, by design.” I mainly target business startups with the potential to grow into corporations and organizations. Every project that I engage in I must get a sense of intrinsic value and become a fan of its potential before I begin working. This helps me produce the best work possible. Projects and products must also fall in line with my core values.
As you know, we’re big fans of David Bazile and David W Bazile Accounting we know you’ve worked with them quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with David Bazile.
David has been my accountant since 2018, but he is also a good friend. We met through his sister, who I went to school with and is also a friend of mine. Before Dave began doing my taxes, I was doing them myself. What led me to start to work with Dave was the amount of knowledge he has in his field, as well as his precision and professionalism. He has made me aware of a lot that I didn’t know regarding my finances and even my business prior to working with him. For instance, one of the things I appreciate is that he goes above and beyond to send all of his clients a ‘tax preparation checklist’ which lists all of the items we must submit for him to file, but also informs us of which business and personal items are tax deductible. He is also an avid supporter of my business and the businesses of others. In January 2019, he tapped me to design his logo and brand identity, making it my first branding project for a registered LLC Corp. He has also hosted events catering toward the support and promotion of startup businesses in the black community. Dave is always eager to help and very responsive to questions and concerns. He will always stop what he’s doing to lend an ear. Through DWB Accounting, Dave also hosts workshops in financial literacy and is now preparing to release an e-course and e-book. He never stops wanting to help others grow.
