Meet Aaron Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Wilson.

Aaron, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first picked up a camera back in college when I was a Graduate Assistant for Bethune-Cookman Universities Sports Marketing Department. My task at the time was to help create content for our growing social media platform. Years later in 2017, while living in Houston, TX I finally purchased my first camera. I began to work with the camera ministry in a church back in Houston. Also helped found a nonprofit called “Forward and Beyond” while in Houston. My camera came in handy with creating content for our social media. Picking up a camera has been amazing for me trying to balance corporate world and still finding a way to be creative. My camera is how I creatively express myself. It’s clutch!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle was and is teaching myself everything I can about a camera and lighting. I’ve learned a lot from other photographers and YouTube.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Aaron Wilson Photography – what should we know?
Currently, I’m still developing what I specialize in. My heart is still with church photography since that is where I truly got my first practice with my first camera. Since then, I have worked with a few social media influencers and helped them create content to promote their brand.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The essential quality that has been important to my success is being willing to be vulnerable. At times you’ll fail and even succeed. In not moments, you must be willing to learn and grow.
