Thanks for sharing your story with us Marc. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
ACA GPS, founded May of 2013, is a startup company specializing in the development and implementation of compliance Software as a Service (SaaS). As a result of the passage of the Affordable Care Act and subsequent rules implementing the Employer Mandate, we moved to fill the need employers would have navigating the vast and convoluted set of regulations. The company was founded by Curtis Reddecliff, our Program Architect, and myself, President and CEO. We since have brought in two additional partners Patricia Moynihan and Lenny Stemmerman who are our Director or Public Relations and Marketing and Director of Customer Support, respectively.
From May of 2013 until September of 2014 when we launched ACA Management Tool® we dedicated ourselves to research and development. We were one of the first companies to be approved by the IRS to transmit and file all relative reports required under the employer mandate. We now serve over 800 clients in approximately 40 states. These clients include all private industries, insurance companies, State and local governments. For 2015 and 2016 tax years, 100% of our clients issued their 1095s and filed to the IRS accurately and by the applicable due dates.
In addition to ACA Management Tool, we also provide an application for self-insured employers to do Dependent Eligibility Audits, DECAtool™. We pride ourselves on looking across the regulatory burdens employers have and developing easy to use applications to simplify their lives.
Financing for the company was provided by the two founding partners. To date, we have had no additional need for additional financing.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a start-up required us to earn credibility with the industry’s major players. We are now in our fourth year and have developed a quality reputation one customer at a time. We currently are serving over 800 clients in private sector industries, as well State and Local governments, in over 40 states.
Another issue that has inhibited additional growth is that many employers have been under the impression that the employer mandate would be repealed. To date, it has not. But, this idea has kept many employers from seeking compliance solutions.

Each of the 4 partners in the business bring unique capabilities to the table. Together, our ability to grow and adapt are greatly enhanced. Additionally, each of us have owned and operated other successful businesses throughout our carriers. Most importantly, it is our staff that make us who we are.
