Meet Adekunle Ayodele of Mixle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adekunle Ayodele.

Adekunle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all began in 2015. A friend of mine invited me to a local lounge in Atlanta. I got to the bar a bit early, ordered a drink (more like water) and starting playing with my phone. I looked around and realized pretty much everyone was doing about the same thing with very limited face-to-face interaction.

Fast forward an hour later, people started to interact. So, I asked myself two questions:

1. What happened in the last hour that made people to interact? Two things came to my mind; the first was either the liquid courage kicked in or the lounge became crowded making it easy for people to interact.

2. How can I use people’s habits (aka phones) to make connecting with the right people a lot easier and fun?

This marked the beginning of Mixle (Mix and Mingle).

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like most startups, it sure hasn’t been an easy ride. A few challenges include:

1. Getting end users to know about Mixle and use Mixle at sporting events, networking events, schools, airports and many more.

2. Educating event planners and business owners on the benefits of adopting Mixle.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mixle story. Tell us more about the business.
Mixle is a patent pending technology that provides event planners and businesses a unique way of capturing and understanding guest behavior and interests, while facilitating guest connections and engagement.

Mixle’s simple approach to facilitating guest connections sets us apart from our competitor. Mixle opens up new revenue streams for businesses including licensing, subscription and advertisement opportunities.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’d like to think of luck as a preparation, hard work and opportunity in alignment. While we still have a lot of work ahead of us, I think we have made good progress.
