Meet Adia Jordan of Blueprint Aesthetic in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adia Jordan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Blueprint Aesthetic was once named iLashblueprint. In March of 2017, I took the last bit of my money to become a Lash Artist. At first, I really wasn’t feeling it because I felt that I wasn’t going to ever get as good as I am now. When I first started lashing, it took me at least 4 hours to do a set properly. I am such a perfectionist, if it isn’t right, I will start over again. In May of 2017, I went through personal problems which made me put lashing on a hold until October of 2017. I had really given up on it, I felt like I should just go to college, get my degree and just work a basic career. I am a person who doesn’t like to be told what to do lol. I am more of a control type, I want things to go my way, or it’s no way. I never held a job for more than a month. I had people reaching out to me to start back lashing. In October of 2017, I began to start back practicing on live models again.

In November, I moved into my first suite with my sister and began to start taking clients. In all honesty, my lashing career didn’t start to pop until the end of 2018. Now it’s growing, I had traveled to another city and did lashes there. The plan for 2019 is to travel to more, train, and continue to grow and expand my business. In the midst of all this, I enrolled in school to get my license as an esthetician in Nov 2018, and now I’m working on my skin care and lash line. So I have way more in store for everyone. I’m super excited.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has NOT been smooth at all. There are times where I still cry because I’ll become very frustrated at things, especially when things don’t go right. When I had to take my break from lashing, I felt like that set me back so far, but it was for a reason. Good things happen when the time is right. I was at a point where I was lashing at least one persona day then all of a sudden things slowed up which was not good for me. I was still learning how to manage my money, so when business began to get slow, I was losing lots of money because I was paying for a salon suite I was barely working in.

In April 2018 I had moved out of the suite and began to lash out of my mom’s apartment. THE WORST THING I EVER DID. I had lost so many of my clients because they felt that was unprofessional. I reached out to people in the local area of downtown Atlanta and began to work in this suite for two months. After that, I left her suite and started working in a hair salon. While working in the hair salon, I had started to lose my clients again because of retention issues due to the heat from the tools in the hair salon causing a hot climate which is not a good temperature to lash in. I was saving my money up because me and my sister wanted our own office suite that was big enough for us to fit both of our businesses in. At the end of Nov 2018, we signed the leased to our office suite of four rooms.

Blueprint Aesthetic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My Business Blueprint Aesthetic is a company that specializes in many things such and lashing, and skin care. As of right now, it mostly specializes in lash extensions. That is what I am known for here in Atlanta, being this amazing lash artist who has the best customer service. I am mostly proud of how my lash work has reached so many people in Atlanta and also in different cities and states. To know that someone who is in New Jersey, Baton Rouge, New York, Cali, etc…, have seen my work and get inspired by me is one of the best feelings in the world. I can’t even explain how it makes me feel.

The thing that sets me apart from others is my creativity and my customer service. I am always thinking outside the box of different techniques I could use and creative ways to promote my business. I guess being weird is actually paying off because it helps me not to follow how everyone does things, I rather set my own path. As far as customer service, I wouldn’t care if it’s 3 am in the morning, if my client has an urgent problem, then I am all ears to my client. I also make sure my clients are satisfied with their service, if not I’m always asking how can I help, what needs to be done and is everything okay. I make sure they are the top priority when it comes to my business because without them I wouldn’t be where I am. I always tell them how much I appreciate them.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in my career has been enrolling in school to get my esthetician license. School has expanded my knowledge and skills to where now I can add more services to my business. I graduate in August of this year and I know that once I get my license, I can make my move to LA, California, and start my business out there as well.
