Meet Adrian Tabb of The Bundle Boutique in Lithia Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Tabb.

Adrian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started styling hair in high school after going to the salon with my mother and grandmother faithfully and have a few baby sitters who were stylists. My mother, friends and my pastor encouraged and supported my desire to become a stylist. My passion grew quickly and I left a full scholarship to an HBCU after one year of attending to pursue my dream to be a cosmetologist. From there, I started working with product companies to demonstrate styling and teach product knowledge. Eventually, I became a licensed instructor and traveled even more independently to teach extension and cutting techniques. After teaching at the Bronner Brother show here in Atlanta, offers to come to educate were coming from everywhere!

Has it been a smooth road?
There have been several struggles along the way. Long nights working, missing family and friends functions, a decline in clientele from time to time, and relationships being stained due to work and it’s requirements. The industry is demanding and if you are out of sight sometimes you are out of mind. Staying current requires a lot of time, money, and discipline.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I currently work at Bundle Boutique and I am a stylist there. I offer all phases of hair care and styling but I specialize in Short hair styling and cutting, sewn extensions, and wig making. I offer one on one classes there as well.

I’m also an educator at Empire Beauty School. I have the pleasure of helping students accomplish their dreams and encouraging them to not make the same mistakes I did.

My passion for the industry and the custom sets me apart. This is my livelihood but I am concerned about honesty and integrity more than I am about the money.

I’m currently working to organize a mentorship program for those seeking additional guidance and training based on my previous experience

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next few years, I feel the industry will become more focused on the business aspect of cosmetology. We have struggled to gain respect as professionals and some of that is our fault. But I believe we will begin to see more people running businesses instead of just styling hair.
