Today we’d like to introduce you to Ady Meschke.
Ady is an Atlanta-based entrepreneur, boy mom, and #1 Bestselling Author of the children’s book, Her Body Can, living out her dreams as a world-renowned travel blogger of 8 years. The founder of Verbal Gold Blog and Social Gold, she clouts a body positivity message and aims to let women everywhere know that “all ages and sizes should love themselves and feel worthy to live their best life.” She is also the owner of a body-inclusive activewear company that has been featured in Shape and The Today Show, aiming to help all women learn to love the shape of their bodies. More than anything, she wants to inspire all women, young or not, to dream their biggest dreams possible and keep trying no matter what—because those dreams, with enough hard work, can absolutely come true.
Has it been a smooth road?
There are always challenges and obstacles. From people using you just to get what they want to backlash for sharing your life, being a freelancer and finding work, being your own boss, wearing every single hat, and having to figure everything out along the way. There are lots of late nights and missing events with friends but it all pays off in the end. In my opinion, it’s worth it.
My advice to other women who are just starting their journey is to not quit when things get tough because they will. Be prepared to work hard and continue your learning and education. Networking is key, find a group of like-minded women to lift you up when things get hard. You can’t do it alone.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Verbal Gold Blog – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My main business that has provided me with these opportunities is my blog, Verbal Gold Blog. I specialize in travel content to inspire others to explore the world. Because I believe, when you explore the world around you, you discover the world within you. I recently had a baby boy and now enjoy writing about family, mom life, and Colt baby as well.
I’m most proud of where the blog opportunities have taken me. Interviewing Khloe Kardashian was a huge win for me as well as working with big brands like Dr.Pepper and The Four Seasons. I’m also extremely proud and grateful for all the messages I get from my VGB squad, my community, that tell me how I’ve inspired or helped them in some way. It still blows me away.
I have a social media marketing and consulting company called Social Gold to help other small businesses grow. I received so many requests from bloggers that I’ll be coming out with a PitchBook this year to teach bloggers how to professionally pitch brands. Three years in the making so I’m very excited about this launch!
I’m also proud of expanding my business to more than just the blog. I invested in a new product, I own a body-positive size-inclusive athletic apparel company called Zions Den Apparel, and as a passion project on a whim decided to flip a house. We bought and flipped our second house and profited 37%, all while traveling the world with my amazing husband.
Lastly, I co-wrote a body-positive children’s book this year called Her Body Can that became an instant bestseller on Amazon. His Body Can will be coming out in 2020.
