Today we’d like to introduce you to Africa T.
Africa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
A licensed nail tech for over six years. Realized that women want the quality but maybe not the commitment of acrylics, the time it takes to sit in a nail salon, and even more so the luxe and convenience without overspending. Also began the press on line to allow myself more at home time with small children instead of being away from home at a salon all day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Has been an uphill climb for sure. Lots of trial and error along the way from even just basics like prepping a nail properly to ensure no chipping. Running an online company that has steadily grown each month by yourself causes you to be admin, customer service, damage control, postal worker and so much more! Finding the flow and efficiency without compromising quality is always a work in progress.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Eden Von Nails – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Eden Von Nails is an online press on company. I create customized nail enhancements. The nails are currently available in 11 shapes and hopefully more soon. Shapes range from the shortest/natural square to long almond and coffin shapes. I specialize in “something for everyone.” One thing I prided myself on while working in a salon was the ability to offer many nail services and to do them well. I have merged that same concept to the online business side. From natural solid colors to extreme art and bling, I want women of all ages and likes to find their nails here at Eden Von.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to expand into brick and mortar stores. The most exciting vision of this brand is to hire at-risk teenagers preparing for college part-time to assist in our production by 2021. Proving them a safe space to work and be productive away from any possible distractions, paying them well above minimum wage and partnering with donors who will offer scholarships as well so they can have the best opportunity to further their education and follow their dreams beyond a high school level.
