Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha Marie.
Aisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Aisha Marie, I am Senior at Bethune-Cookman University majoring in psychology, and I am a YouTuber. Growing up, I was reticent and to myself. When I wasn’t spending time with my cousins, my outlet would be watching my favorite YouTubers. I would teach myself how to do my nails. In the 1st grade, I taught myself how to do french tips. I would take my mom’s camera and record myself teaching others how to do their nails. I would do the most creative things like glue sprinkle on my nails, paint artist album covers, etc. Sometimes I look back and wonder where I would’ve been if I uploaded those videos. The difference between Aisha back then and Aisha now is, I’m unapologetic. Fearless, unapologetic, and Highly favored is what I consider myself.
I started my YouTube Channel for several reasons. One reason is that I am passionate about bettering your mental health and well being. I started out writing out topics about mental health and sharing them with my friends. Eventually, they suggested that I have my own YouTube channel. Since it’s something that I always wanted to do, I decided to start. I am a novice YouTuber, and I am learning a lot about technology, digital, and creating content. Since I launched my channel in a short period, I have gotten almost a thousand subscribers and thousands of views. My goal is to continue to grow my YouTube channel and help empower & inspire others around the globe.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been smooth with starting my channel. Since creating content is more so a hobby for me, I sometimes struggle with procrastinating. As an independent contractor, I have to manage my time to ensure the deadline uploads each video. For entrance, it takes four hours to create the video content. Also, it takes three to four hours to edit. Time management and discipline allows me to meet my deadline.

I am a full-time student and part-time Youtuber. I am most proud of the quality of my visual content. It’s not the best at the moment but I am very grateful to have the tools I need to be able to do what I’m passionate about. I had to educate my self on a lot of technology tips and tricks but in the end, it’s always worth it. What I believe sets me apart from others is my determination to be successful and to help others.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a GREAT place to start, if not THE location to start. It’s like a mini Hollywood. Because Atlanta is so diverse, it’s rare for people not to find their ‘crowd’ or ‘vibe.’ One thing I can say is, in Atlanta, it’s always going to be some who is doing the same thing as you, but it’s up to YOU to be different and add your personality. Anyone can start a YouTube, but do you have a character? Do you have the drive? The hunger? Because while you’re looking at the next person, comparing yourself to what you DON’T have, they are making the best out resources they DO have. That’s how you win in life.
