Today we’d like to introduce you to Aiyanna Neves.
Aiyanna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Boston, MA. My mother was always playing ‘90s RnB and Hip Hop. Naturally, I gravitated to it and fell in love. As a child, I was always writing raps in my journal or rapping in the bathroom mirror. As I grew up, writing had taken a backseat but my love for music always stayed. In 2018, I moved to Atlanta and was quickly introduced to studio life. I would always go with some friends and watch them record. One day they were working on their joint mixtape and I had asked to feature on a beat they had just created. The reaction I got from my recorded verse only let me know that I had something there. Eventually, my brother, Dj Siamese, heard it and accepted me into The League.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road will never be a completely smooth one. Being a young woman, people will try to take advantage of you and the situation. I’ve always kept my head on straight and made sure I was aware of the people around me. I was blessed to have people around me that educate me about the business and connect me to different individuals and opportunities.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am a rapper and a member of The League. I make music that gives you a range of emotions. My music is a reflection of my moods and personality. It gives you a taste of how I am as a person.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Dj Siamese! He started a group called The League and it consists of different music artists. We all have our own sound and the way I handle our craft. He’s helped connect us and put us on a platform where we can be seen and heard in the city.
