Today we’d like to introduce you to Alandria Lloyd.
Alandria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been a writer. Even as a child, I would keep a diary or journal next to my bed. As a teen, I lost two children due to preterm labor and stillbirth.
During those times, I experienced severe depression and anxiety. I did not have many friends to confide in so I depended on my pen. I used writing as therapy to curb moments of depression and frustration. In 2017, I self-published my first book which is a 30-day devotional entitled, Change AGENT: The Missing Piece. I recently self published a devotional for single and unmarried women entitled, “While I’m Waiting”.
Once I self-published my book, I wanted to help other aspiring authors bring clarity to their stories. I began coaching and hosting classes to give others the scoop on how I self-published without breaking the bank. My niche is assisting aspiring authors to tell their testimonies via book. I believe that our lives are a story worth telling.
So many people have faced similar issues in life and should share with others how they have been able to overcome. Whenever others share how my book was able to change their perspective or encourage them to keep going, that gives me the greatest feeling of accomplishment.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. I did everything on my own, so there was a ton of reading and research. A lot of trial and error. I share my trials and errors with my clients so that they can avoid those pitfalls.
I think that the most difficult challenge for me was putting myself on display. I’m naturally introverted so stepping out was a huge step. However, it has truly been one of the best steps.
The Writer’s Block – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Writer’s Block LLC is a safe space for creatives who may be confused regarding the writing and self-publishing process. My niche’ is assisting aspiring authors to tell their testimonies via the pen. I’m known for shifting perspectives. It’s amazing to see who an aspiring author’s eyes light up when I share info or a thought they never considered
As a company, I”m most proud of assisting others birth books that they never thought would become a reality.
What sets me apart from others, is my God-given ability to discern. I’m able to tailor make classes and material specifically for each client. It isn’t the typical cookie cutter company. I make it a point to ensure that my clients have an impactful yet uniquely positive experience with me.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’m proud each time a client takes what I taught them and apply it to complete their project.
