Meet Alex Armstrong of The Blue Bisque Event Space in Castleberry Hill Art District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Armstrong.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Being a serial entrepreneur, I’ve always looked for what’s missing in the market before launching a new business so when I relocated my clothing store LGE Clothing Company to the Castleberry Hill neighborhood, I realized that the residents didn’t have a cool creative space to hang out and unwind. Instead of turning the entire building into a Clothing Rental and Retail space, I took one half of the building and made it a creative space that focus on my other two loves, Art & Music. The space was also designed so it could double as an event space for someone that wanted an intimate artsy venue for parties, book signings or a fun girls night out. Magically it worked and within days we had booked our first 12 parties. Word spread fast thanks to the neighbor’s and my friends. We’ve since hosted book signings for celebrity author Mashanda, a product launch party for Actress Kim Hawthorne of Greenleaf, a marriage proposal that went viral thanks to @theshaderoom and a host of Baby Showers.

During the day you can come in and sip & paint, smoke a hookah and shop our clothing boutique for unique one of a kind finds. If you are a musician, you can play your demo on our state of the art sound system or just chill and get your creative juices flowing. We are open seven days a week from 9 am to 10 PM Sunday thru Thursday and 9 am to 2 am Friday and Saturday.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Out of the nine business I’ve owned, the Blue Bisque Event Space has most definitely been the easiest business to own and operate to date. It was organic. The original owner of the property had it as a Sip & Paint space and ai simply built from her blue print. I’m an artist before being a celebrity fashion stylist so it was all in divine order that I would get this particular space.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Blue Bisque Event Space – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are like no other business in Atlanta. We cater to adults looking for an alternative to the club scene. We give creatives a space to rent out to showcase their talents as well as host an array of events ourselves. Monthly we have an event called Art Stroll. Artist from all over the city come out and sell their work, mix & mingle and have a great time with friends. There’s food, drinks and all types of handcrafted vendors to shop from that I personally hand pick each month.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Fall 2019, I will be opening a second location that will be twice the size to give Atlanta creatives a space to work as well and a much larger space to showcase their talents.
