Meet Alex Baghshahi of Oriental Rug Shop in Chamblee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Baghshahi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started going to work with my dad at the age of 6 since my elementary school was located next to his rug shop. I would attend school half a day and spent the rest of my day learning about rugs, and doing my homework. In 1976 when I started my college, I established my business called Persian Rug Paradise which is the parent company of Oriental Rug shop.

Has it been a smooth road?
We have had our own share of ups and downs in our business for the last 41 years dealing with recessions, embargo and sanctions, changes in the market and styles supply and demand, but overall it has been a smooth and fun road for us.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Oriental Rug Shop – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We Specialize in Antique and Decorative Persian, Turkish, Caucasian, and European rugs since 1976. We are expert in cleaning, repair, restorations, and appraisals. We offer Certificate of Authenticity and lifetime exchange and trade policy for all the rugs we sell. We are the 2014 and 2015 Best of Atlanta Award Winner. A+ rated Angie’s List in Cleaning & Restorations.

WE are passionate about oriental rugs, and most of all we are very proud of our customers from designers to homeowners from all over the world. All of which have made us their best friends, and make us feel as though we are part of their families.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is a beautiful city with nice weather, and beautiful, kind people from all over the world. Traffic is the worst thing you find in our city.
