Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Javo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a kid growing up every day was Halloween for me. I grew up loving costumes and dressing up as Batman, Superman, Zorro, etc. and as I got older, I grew up being raised by my mother and my grandparents were always very close to me and my Papa and I would watch the classics like Rocky and Scarface. I’ve always had a desire for more in life than the average person because I realized when I lost my father as a baby to cancer that life can be taken from you quickly and out of nowhere. I also grew up going to church all the time, so I learned at a young age with faith and hard work and desire you can achieve anything. Especially when you have a dream. And I have always been a dreamer. I first became an extra like most people and very quickly I fell in love with the atmosphere you feel on set. I was very star struck don’t get me wrong like anyone else but I had a strong desire to do whatever it took to get in front of the camera and express myself through the art of playing. As time went on, I eventually earned some credits on short film projects and local commercials and eventually got an agent and still to this day take classes and study acting methods all of the time. It is a 24-hour job but if it’s something you love, it never feels like work. So, my message to anyone with a dream and a desire for something more. I say go for it. And never give up.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well, just like most things the pros and cons are you can’t please everyone. Sometimes, you feel as if you nailed an audition and never get a callback. But don’t get discouraged. Keep pushing. Keep learning. Don’t quit. Hold yourself to a higher standard and be your best.
