Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Dollar.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Well, I started getting into music and video production around 14 years old. I begin teaching myself how to make beats, engineer and edit videos. I really fell in love with video editing and photography really quick and stuck to that for the most part. When I graduated high school, I created my company what is now known to be “Brookestone Productions” which is a multimedia company that specializes in videography, photography, social media management, and more. As far as the music business I am still involved. I’ve gotten writing credits over the years with Disney (Let it Shine Movie), J. Holiday (Guilty Conscience album) and I also have 2 theme song openers on television right now. Currently I am moving into the A&R and artist management space.
Please tell us about your art.
I am a videographer/photographer/editor. Editing and shooting takes paying a lot of attention to detail and being persistence. You have to create your own style and look and lock in. Originality is the key and it could take a while to discover you’re on, but when you do…you will be on to something! What I want others to take away from my art is consistency. Everything. I put my hands on I strive to put fourth my best effort for each and every one of my clients.
Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I live in Atlanta, where photography and videography can sometimes be an oversaturated market. But once again that is why original work is so important. it’ll make you stand out the crowd.
