Meet Alexandria Green of Events By Phyllise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Green.

Alexandria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Alexandria Green, born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I’ve actually thought about being an Event Planner Since I was 15 years old. That dream sat at the back of my mind as life went on. I quickly fell into the service world of bartending, catering, coordinating and serving. I also developed a love for photography right before I graduated high school in 2010. I’ve always enjoyed making people look and feel good. After my last Catering coordinator holiday season and working some very prestigious events, I felt that Event Planner spark start to come towards the forefront but again, I still didn’t act on it.

In February of this year, I switched career paths completely and for the first time in life, I moved into corporate America where I was experiencing a whole new world of structure, strict hours & DESKS! Of course, like everyone else that was hit hard with this pandemic, I was swiftly moved to a work from home position and that affected my mental health VERY quickly. Fast forward to June; I entered my 28th year of life not knowing what direction I was even headed in and constantly questioning my own happiness. After having a few long tearful conversations with my tribe, the idea of Event Planning came front and center; thus Events By Phyllise (Fa-Leese) was created!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting an event planning business in the middle of a global health pandemic would of course, top any obstacle. People of course, aren’t having nearly as many events right now for obvious reasons. I haven’t let that stop me, though, as I’ve still been able to utilize my photography skills to provide that same intimate one on one experience while creating some great content in the meantime.

Please tell us about Events By Phyllise.
With Events By Phyllise or ExP, I wanted to hone in on all the individual skills I had acquired from my previous jobs along with being the “planner friend,” you know, the friend that plans all the trips down to having itineraries and activity options? That’s me! You want to plan a party and don’t know where to start? That’s what I’m here for. I’m surrounded by entrepreneurs and strong-willed individuals that I would constantly recommend to anyone that asked, You need it? I got it and if I don’t, I know someone that can. While with my event planning venture, I also want to utilize my Photography and Bartending trades to build clientele and really get my name out there. I specialize in intimate affairs, baby showers, business mixers, setting up photoshoots, etc. I’ve even helped book and plan a birthday party from hundreds of miles away. I’ve made social media flyers for my other business owner friends. I literally I Do It All. I’m not even six months in but I’m excited to see where these new adventure will take me and I enjoy every opportunity to bring someone’s ideas to reality.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Favorite childhood memory would definitely be riding my bike all through the neighborhood like ten bikes deep, just enjoying those stress-free Atlanta summers.
