Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Flowers.
Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Alexis Flowers. I am a two-time published children’s book author and the founder of Cre8tiv Action Flow Productions. I am new to the Atlanta, GA area, but my story began with a lifelong curiosity for visuals and storytelling and their ability to bring people together. Going to the movies every weekend with my mom inspired me to learn how I could create something so impactful that one day it could end up on the big screen as well. What began as an interest out of us just spending time together quickly turned into a calling as I found myself behind the camera, learning not just the technical side of media, but its power to influence, educate, and inspire. Over the past 10+ years, my career has expanded across digital media, photography, video production, and education. My goal in everything I do is to help people not only learn tools, but also discover their own voices and confidence through creative expression.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road has definitely been a faith journey, to say the least. I began my production company Cre8tiv Action Flow and started my first book titled ” In Mothers Shoes” while in college. Work was not always consistent, and writer’s block became a real challenge for me. One of the most challenging parts of my journey has been learning to trust my own voice while navigating an industry that is constantly evolving and highly competitive. This past year, I took a leap of faith to leave my 9–5, move to a new state, and pursue my production company full time. I am learning that there are moments when opportunities are limited, resources may be scarce, and balancing creativity with responsibility requires resilience and discipline. Most importantly, I am thankful to have support from my family, friends and my NOLA’s Girl Crew. They have show me the right way to do business with faith, love, care, and education at the center of it all. As I continue to grow in my career, these experiences have pushed me to adapt, continue learning, and stay committed to my God-given purpose. Every day, I gain a deeper understanding of why I create.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work centers on how art should be experienced. I create storytelling through digital media, education, and creative production. I am the founder of Cre8tiv Action Flow Productions, where I specialize in photography, video production, and digital media, all within the faith based space that elevate stories, strengthen communities, and amplify authentic voices. I also have a strong background in media education. Since 2019, I have been teaching students to help them build both technical skills and creative confidence.
I am known for creating work that is intentional and purpose-driven. Whether I am behind the camera, teaching, or developing creative projects, I approach every project with the understanding that media has the power to be impactful in many ways but we must take responsibility for the type of impression we leave for others to take in.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is being a two-time published children’s book author. My first book “In Mothers Shoes” is about a young girl named Justice Lovechild known as ”JOJO” who is obsessed with shoes. When Justice dresses up in her shoes, she embarks on an adventure. Justice’s favorite shoes are her mother’s magical white polka-dot heels, which contain a variety of magical abilities. When Justice steps into her mother’s shoes, she is transported through a portal to see an adult version of herself as a lawyer in front of a courtroom, just like her mother. This book is about myself as a little girl always having a vivid imagination and a love for shoes still to this day.
My second book “The Little Camera Man” is an enchanting children’s book that takes readers on a heartwarming journey alongside a little boy named James, affectionately known as lil Jimmy. Lil Jimmy has a special love for cameras and capturing beautiful things. As readers join Lil Jimmy on his magical quest, they will witness the transformative power of dreams and the incredible potential that lies within young minds. With every flash of the camera Lil Jimmy makes small things become big. Jimmy discovers the limitless possibilities that await those who dare to dream big. This book is an invitation to dream big, believe in yourself, and embark on a remarkable adventure of self-discovery. This book is decorated to my late grandfather who loved cameras and capturing every moment. We shared a dream to work in photography that I am keeping alive today.
Most of all , I am proud of betting on myself this year by taking the leap of faith to pursue my creative company Cre8tiv Action Flow full time. My books and this decision both represent years of dedication, growth, and me finally trusting in God’s vision for my life. The stories I create are rooted in real life experiences. They tell versions of my life I first saw in my head as dreams, and now I get the chance to make them my reality.
In this next season, as I continue to build my clientele and work on my third book, I hope my journey reminds others that purpose doesn’t arrive fully formed; it is revealed step by step through faith, consistency, and the courage to keep going, even when the path feels uncertain. I have always been set apart and separated from the group, and I am learning to walk confidently in that truth. I believe my ability to blend my faith with pure intention and purpose in any creative space allows me not just to create content, but to create meaningful experiences.
