Before we jump into specific questions about the company, Alexis, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got started with this company out of a God push. I say that because I’ve been on my entrepreneurial journey for four years now, and I’ve sold everything but my heart’s desire, which is clothing. I never wanted to sell clothes, never wanted a boutique or anything of that nature. I was sleeping one night and heard God’s voice as clear as day to start my business. That’s how I am able to sit before you all as founder and CEO of my company.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This business has by far been the easiest and smoothest business I’ve dealt with since becoming my own boss.
Please tell us more about your company, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
My company TheLipBash is an elite woman’s boutique specializing in tops only, hoodies, blouses, sweaters, and bodysuits. We have selections for our curvy women and common sizes for our average-sized women. The most unique thing and what I’m most proud of about my business is that we are a “one of one” meaning limited edition boutique. We don’t stock a lot of inventory of one particular style of top, we have about three or four of that style, and once it’s sold, it’s sold. That’s why we’re an exclusive boutique. I believe that personally, I’m known for my versatility in fashion. I try different looks and make them flow well. What sets my company apart is that I believe no one in my area or surrounding areas will have what we have or engage with their community, like how we’re building that engagement with our community of ladies.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
No, I wouldn’t start over. I love this space that I’m in.
