Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Mirza.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my career in sales when I was 19, I was the guy who would go into neighborhoods, knock on people’s doors and try to sell them life insurance. You never heard of me before and you never saw me after, but you bought from me. I did that for about 4 years until I grew tired of all the travel.
I decided to take some time off after finishing university and really think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. That is when I realized, I am a salesman and I just want to sell. I don’t want to work for someone else and fill out paperwork. So I decided to start an outsourced sales firm.
After working with some clients and achieving some tremendous results, one of my clients said to me “Ali, you are great and all, but if you get hit by a bus tomorrow, we are back to square 1. Why don’t you write down what you do?” I responded “Pay me for it” and they said “Sure”.
From that point on, I realized, it would be infinitely more scalable to help companies create sales processes which would allow them to scale their sales teams, rather than me and my team just sell for them on a contract basis.
6 years in the business, a few pivots and I feel we are finally understanding our true purpose.
Today, we help companies all across the United States, develop, build and scale their sales process and teams.
Has it been a smooth road?
Running your own firm is never easy, but if you love what you do and you have a true passion for it, it is not hard.
I tell people all the time, that if I was a billionaire, this is exactly what I would be doing, just for free.
I genuinely enjoy working with business owners and founders to help them increase their sales. We have had many big wins, but a few losses.
The ones that hurt the most are when clients argue about payment. Fortunately, it does not happen often, but when it does, it is a serious blow to our momentum. As we grow and work with more and more clients, we run into all different personality types. Some have no problem handing over a large check for a job well done, while others, no matter what the outcome and agreement, they simply want to keep their cash.
I have learned not to let things like that bother me. The universe always takes care of those who do right by others and I will not let the negative energy consume me. The amount of time people waste chasing after something that is destined to fail would be far better spent on focusing on new wins.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rose Garden Consulting – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Rose Garden Consulting is a sales process development firm that works with SMBs as well as large organizations to help develop, standardize and document best practices. The most effective sales teams are ones that follow a systematic, repeatable and predictable process.
Whether it’s a sales process that you’re looking to put in place or training and onboarding for new sales hires, Rose Garden can help you develop and document those processes.
Many companies are producing sales; however, chances are there is no sales process and methodology in place. Without a consistent workflow for salespeople, results become sporadic and at times underwhelming. Creating a systematic sales process, or a framework, to ensure all salespeople are engaged in the right activities so the results will follow, is our core competency.
Companies become confused and often implement sales methodologies from large training companies who create one-size fits all approach.
Without a customized sales process, it is unlikely to have a sales force that is performing at maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
We work with sales leaders and act as consultants on their behalf, reinforcing effective strategies while identifying deficiencies, and carefully working with them to improve results.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is by far and away the best city in the world. Having lived in Asia, Canada and traveled all across the US, I settled on Atlanta for a reason.
The people are friendly and always ready for a conversation. The weather is perfect and you get all 4 seasons, but the winter is not bad. The trees are amazing. The business climate is great and only growing but the cost of living is affordable.
The traffic moves a little slower than my liking but at least we do not have the smog issues of other cities.
No other city in the country has nearly as much soul.
