Meet Ali White and Candi VandiZandi of Faux Tanning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali White and Candi VandiZandi.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our mission at Faux is empowering women to feel more confident in their skin without having to compromise their health and long term skincare by laying in the sun! My partner and I started Faux Tanning because she was faced with this dilemma for her own wedding. She wanted an even natural-looking glow but didn’t feel like the one-size-fits-all approach to spray tanning that was being offered in Atlanta worked. Our mobile service gives our clients the ability to instantly feel comfortable because they are in their own home/hotel room.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Actually, our biggest challenge has also been the foundation of our company. The challenge has been providing a customized glow for every body type, age, and skin type. Every client is different and we love that. We are constantly training with new products and techniques to provide everyone with the same level of perfection we would expect.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a mobile spray tanning company based out of Atlanta. We are certified spray tan artists and only use organic, vegan products. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and what we put on our skin is just as important as what goes in it! What sets us apart is that we focus on giving our clients a personalized experience from start to finish. We also focus on educating our clients during the whole process. Over the last few years, we’ve become very well connected to the bridal world and specialize in Bride and Bridal Party tans. We offer a really special event called “Bubbles and Bronzing” where the bride can host a spray tanning party at her home or venue and we will tan the whole party and pop complimentary champagne in their honor. This is also popular for Bachelorette parties, before big events and for any girl or guy looking for a stay- at- home wellness/beauty event with friends.

What were you like growing up?
Candi – Health and wellness has always been a focus for me even as a child. Minus the times I might have had the occasional Taco Bell in high school. I knew even earlier in life that staying out of the sun was my best chance to not only fight aging but help prevent skin cancer. Later in life, I chose to work in careers that also had these principles in mind. I was a massage therapist and managed an organic juice company.

Ali – I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, spending a good amount of time at the beach and later joining a sorority in college. Having a nice tan was always key to my confidence throughout my years of wearing bathing suits, shorts and dresses for social outings. As I got older, I realized that my skin would also age and taking care of it was also key to looking and feeling my best. Also, I quickly learned that there was a huge difference between good and bad spray tan.

Meet Buckhead Series Sponsor:

Ase Omavuaye Otite: I am a Nigerian-born author who is passionate about children and driven to protect their innocence. I have an extremely creative mind and identify myself as an artist. I love to express myself through art, especially photography, words, and music. I have discovered how great and freeing it is to be myself and it helps me unlock new ideas. I am an aunt and godmother to 27 nieces and nephews and play an active role in their lives. Engaging with the children in my life helps keep my inner child at the forefront when I am writing and creating art. My goal is to take readers’ imagination on a magical adventure, allowing children to connect to their creative side. I believe with my artistic ideas, I can accomplish that. My love and passion for children and technology in my personal life was the driving force that helped me write my children’s book, Happystarville. My book, Happystarville teaches great morals to young children; allowing them to see how the consequences of their actions don’t just affect them—but also everyone around them. Happystarville is available online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart.
