Meet Alicia and Morgan Adamson of Woodstock, Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia and Morgan Adamson

Hi Alicia and Morgan , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The Adamson Crew Family Chronicles is a book series that was created at the beginning of COVID. When the country shut down and schools abruptly closed, our 7-year-old daughter was at a loss. Approximately a few days prior to the closing, we sent her to her school’s bookfair with money in hand. She returned from school with the same amount of money and absolutely no book in sight. My husband and I were confused and inquired about the lack of purchase. She simply responded, “There were no books about families being together, no books look like me or my family.” Later that night, she came to us and asked, “Can I write my own books?” Being parents that foster their children’s ambitions and dreams, we obliged and started assisting her with her stories. She wanted to write about her own family and the adventurous milestones that she experienced at the tender age of 7 years old. Her intention was to help other children through these milestones by describing how she handled each situation. These are her stories in her words; with a little help from us of course ( grammar wise). The series include 4 reading books entitled Morgan Becomes a Big Sister, First Day of School Jitters, The Twins Fun Doctor Visit, and Making the Big Move and 1 coloring/activity book which includes some of Morgan’s favorite puzzles and activities. In this family, “Representation Matters.” It’s always been a goal of our family to spread love and positivity, through exhibiting cohesiveness and basic family fun. We are all about building a strong foundation and bonds that each family possesses.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a fun road to go down, but not always easy. Finding people who wanted to work with you was a challenge, especially during a pandemic. We were able to ask a few questions on how to get started to our fellow authors, but that was about it, everything else we figured out through trial and error. We had to find editors and illustrators who believed in our vision just as much as we did. During COVID, everything was completely electronic, as we were not allowed to see anyone in person ( social distancing), so that was hurdle and an adjustment within its self. However, overall, the process had it “Glows and Grows”, but regardless of which, we enjoyed every minute of it and learned so much!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are proud of our social involvement and volunteering. Our children love the fact that they can be the change in the world. I personally work as a Licensed Professional Counselor and enjoy seeing our future leaders desire to make the world a better place, starting from within, from their eyes and their point of view. I am most proud of being a wife and mom of three beautiful children and watching them figure out how to use their own experiences to teach and assist other children. Morgan stated that her most proud moment is seeing her books viewed across the globe from children of all ages. She absolutely adores “pop up” shops because it allows her to tell her story, meet children and adult from all walks of life, and autograph her books in person. Her ultimate goal will be having her book series transformed into an animated series to be broadcast on televisions all over the world.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
