Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Bradford.
Alicia, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been bar-tending part-time in Atlanta for the past eight years. Throughout that time, I would get customers that would want to hire me as a bartender at various private events. In 2013, while working at the bank, I envisioned creating a mobile cocktail catering company that would specialize in professional mixology. I would work on my business plan every day and discuss it with my co-worker Jimmy Johnson, who later became my business partner.
The first event I booked was my best friend’s wedding. The groom being from the islands and the bride from East Atlanta. I knew it would be a lot of drinking, and an extra set of hands would come in handy. At that time, I couldn’t find anyone willing to help, not even for a small fee. So, I reached out to one of my good friends Shawanna Smith for assistance. She was delighted to come to my rescue and the event was a hit. From that point on, I knew I was on to something.
I realized there was a market for this type of business and wanted to gather a team. I went back to speaking with the people I started with. Jimmy & Shawanna, They believed in the vision and we’ve been rocking ever since. We gained a lot of our knowledge and experience in trial and error, as well as researching our competitors. Now I am proud to say we are thriving and growing. We offer a variety of services from a certified mixologist, wait staff and even hookah services!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hasn’t been the smoothest road. Like most startups, we bumped our heads along the way. From price “gauging” to how to market the business. It all has been a learning experience.

Classy Cocktails is a catering company for cocktails. We offer a variety of services from a certified mixologist, wait staff and even hookah services! The thing that sets us apart from our competitors is that we are professional and every drink is customized and handcrafted per event. All of our ingredients and juices are freshly squeezed or brewed daily. We also create an experience for our clients. The tag line is “we bring the mix to you,” meaning we want to make each event as worry free as possible. I am proud of the direction we are going in as a company. We are continuously working on our branding and marketing. The company is finally getting the recognition and notary that we have put in so much work for.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. It’s God’s timing, While you are patiently put in the hard work and preparation. You will harvest what you put time and effort into.
