Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha McKiver-Carson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My leap of faith was not an easy decision, but I am told it was inevitable. My family says I was born to be a Chef. I am the fourth generation of a strong, loving and supportive family who excel at cooking. I have been cooking since I was eight years old, by the side of some excellent teachers. Ranging from my Great Grandmothers, Christine Brown and Petronia Palmer, my Grandmother, Rosa Brown and her sister Aunt Sallie and the youngest sister, my other mother, who I call Auntie and my dear Mother, Lisa Brown. As a family, we use food as the catalyst to get together and enjoy each other’s company. I am the first Great-Grandchild of my family. “I am well loved”, as Auntie says. I know they are proud of me for continuing the tradition of preparing great food with love. I have worked in the food industry for over ten years. I love creating different recipes.
My husband Victor and children and I have set out on this journey together. However, as you see, we have not been alone. Our family, friends, my dear Mother, Lisa Brown, and our wonderful Father God have been with us every step of the way. This leap of faith has indeed been a blessing. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. Being a business owner is a day to day stretch that has shown me that my leap of faith was not in vain. Every day I’m allowed the opportunity to meet new people and serve hungry and anxious customers all across the City of Savannah.

Providing Quality, Value and Service to every customer is vital in our daily operations. We are known for our delicious soul food that reaches hundreds of people all across the low-country. Seafood balls., Homemade punch and our turkey wings are the best sellers. Our motto is “Where delicious food and great customer service meets.”
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plan for the future is to open Savannah’s finest Soul Food Truck and, eventually a restaurant. Most of all start a generational legacy now is my top priority as I am the mother of 2 boys and two girls.
