Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Vallee.
Alison, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a mother of two boys. They are grown now. We are originally from Montreal, Quebec. We moved to the United States 19 years ago. We’ve been in Georgia for 8.5 years. I started Krumbs & Krust at the farmers market about six years ago. And two years ago, I was approached to become manager of this little gem and of course, this has become my passion. My passion for food started when I was a small child. I love food and cooking. This market has everything – (farmers (local fresh produce), honey, bread/pastries, coffee, cheese, spices, eggs, soaps, food trucks, and crafters).
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, I am not going to lie. Being a stay at home mom, computers is not my strong suite. So I’ve had to re-learn how to use the newest versions of Microsoft Office, mail chimp, and social media. Now I have close to 2000 followers on Instagram.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Peachcity Market story. Tell us more about the business.
My mission is to bring families back to eating and cooking together. The farmers market has brought us together. I love to cook healthy meals. My love of food set us apart from other markets. I am most proud of bringing this market back to life.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe luck brought me this job. This fell into my lap at the right time in my life.
