Meet Allison Wright

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Wright.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Allison. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up in Athens, GA creatives surrounded me. I found these people intriguing, influential. From a young age, I knew that this was a community I wanted a future in. I was constantly drawing, making, and designing throughout my childhood. I moved to Atlanta to pursue a degree in Art from Georgia State University. Two years in I decided to study Interior Design. Since I graduated in 2018, I have been fortunate enough to work in all the art/design forms I am passionate about- interior design, graphic design, fine art, photography, and fashion styling.

Has it been a smooth road?
My road to get where I am today has been fairly smooth, though I have had my fair share of obstacles. For a while, I struggled with trying to pin down my exact passion. I thought that I needed to pick one career path and leave the other things I cared about behind. Fortunately, as a freelancer, I am able to work in all aspects of art/design that I hoped to pursue. This keeps me on my toes, stimulated, and excited. A fair share of self-discipline, time management, and knowing your worth are essential as a freelance artist. These are traits I am constantly working on.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am happy to take on projects in interiors, graphics, branding, illustration, or fashion styling. From space renderings to logos, I enjoy creating cohesive work for my clients. Often times, I approach a project by hand drawing. This is my preferred medium. If that is what the client is looking for, great! If not, I will further develop the project on the computer. Something I pride myself in understands a client’s wishes and their unique style. This is so beneficial in creating a successful design.

Another passion of mine is the clothing re-sale business I created, Blue Jean Baby Queen. I search high and low for good finds from vintage to modern styles. Catch Blue Jean Baby Queen Pop-ups at events around Atlanta and Athens!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a great city to be in as a young creative! There are so many like-minded individuals that are great to collaborate or exchange knowledge with. I recommend those new to Atlanta to look at the others in your field as a resource and friend rather than competition.
