Today we’d like to introduce you to Amadi Jae and Avery Floyd Jr.
Amadi Jae and Avery Floyd Jr. were destined to create greatness together. Growing up in Charlotte, NC both were heavily rooted in music and church. Amadi and Avery grew up singing in the youth choir at Nations Ford Baptist Church and working on debut demos with the Choir Director, Hanoch Hickman. Although their talents were nurtured in the same environment, Avery and Amadi wouldn’t meet until years later. Leaving Charlotte behind, both left for college to pursue their musical dreams. Amadi Jae attended South Carolina State University to study Music Business with a concentration in voice. Avery attended Berkley College of Music in Boston on a vocal scholarship for music production and composition with a concentration in voice. Following college, the talented singers moved to Atlanta with the dream of starting their music careers. Although not an easy task both excelled in their field. Avery began working with the vocalist on their vocal health and growth as a private instructor. Amadi Jae started working as a songwriter, vocal coach, and piano instructor. Soon after Amadi and Avery were introduced by a mutual friend and found out quickly that they had a lot in common. Realizing that they could change the lives of many for the better through their passion and know how for music and voice, they decided to combine forces and assemble “The Acapella Group”. They are determined as a collective to provide a detailed and out of the box approach to vocal coaching, vocal production, and vocal health that would not only educate and simplify the understanding of the instrument but also inspire each singer they work with to be the best singer and artist they can be.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been a rollercoaster ride on this journey. On every road to success, there is going to be some potholes and hurdles along the way. Some hurdles that we’ve had to jump over were building content and finding steady partnerships to create and build content for our marketing and branding strategies. Learning how to balance and manage our expenses as a business was a major key and an important learning curve to overcome as well. Also as entrepreneurs, we learned that sometimes it could become a major struggle in finding a healthy balance between our personal and business lives. A lot of people don’t understand the outstanding hours it takes to build a new business or brand. Due to those long hours and hard work, managing our own health and wellness has sometimes gotten the back seat to us helping others with theirs.

Our company is vocal coaching that specializes in vocal health and wellness, physical and stage performance, and artist development. We are known for our unique and specialized program called a Vocal Aerobics. This is a program that combines vocal training With physical conditioning to equip the performer with The tools they need to build their stamina and all areas of performance. Our class equips the vocal professional with the tools that they need to be successful in performing in all scenarios. We not only teach from a musical perspective but we also teach from a health and wellness perspective that is scientific, unorthodox, and super beneficial. This is what makes us different and special. The Acapella Group thrives on providing a program and experience that helps vocal professionals, from all walks of life, to optimize their skill and advance their careers
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The definition of success is being able to create a life that you don’t have to take a vacation from. Success is bread by a life of fulfillment, abundance, and utilizing your gifts and talents to make a comfortable living of them. To be able to provide a life for our families, and be an inspiration to all we encounter while paving the way for a generation to come is characteristic of success. Most importantly success to us means providing opportunities for others to reach success. You are only as successful as the people you brought up to be successful.
