Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Rosario Glass.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I owe a lot my path to professional acting to my husband he helped me see that where I really wanted to go in my career, I would need to take control of it myself. I got started in the entertainment industry as a model. I told my husband my dream of wanting to be on magazine covers and doing commercials. He went to the grocery store one day and noticed that all the people featured on the covers of magazines were mostly actresses they weren’t models. He said to me I know you’ve tried acting a little bit but if you want to make your vision a reality, you should focus on acting. Well, I was apprehensive because as a child when I did theater I would get really bad stage fright and I also suffer from stress-induced dyslexia; it’s when words get jumbled up and things seem to float around the page and it’s hard to focus on the words; needless to say, I was really afraid to go back into acting because I was afraid of speaking in public which seems like a really bad fear to have while wanting to be an actor. But I’m all about facing my fears and acting was just the perfect catalyst to re-create myself and push me beyond my boundaries. My whole journey has been about creating my own path to fulfill the vision I see.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By no means was my road smooth. I don’t think anyone pursuing purpose, change, success or a higher calling has a smooth road. My struggles have been very personal. One such instance while striving and working to gain experience and notoriety in acting, I encountered an extremely difficult and life-altering event. During my second pregnancy, my baby passed away during the birthing process on the very day that would have been her birthday. The death of a child is the hardest thing any human can experience regardless of the age of the child. I had to learn how to live pass death.
Please tell us about Nice But Feisty.
I am an actress, writer, and producer. I formed my production company Nice But Feisty LLC because I wanted to be more involved in the process of creating the stories seen on television, film and the web arenas. I am most proud of our first film, which is a short entitled “UnOrdinary Love.” What sets me apart from others I’ve been told is my resilience, some people would say it is stubbornness. Either way, when I set my mind to do something, I do it and see it through to the end.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is sitting at the feet of my grandmother, in whom I am named, while we shelled peas on the porch of her country home as she told me stories about our family history.
