Meet Amber Jefferson of The Liberated Soul Movement in Chamblee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Jefferson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amber. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started The Liberated Soul Movement after escaping a toxic relationship five years ago. It had stripped me of my sense of self and identity. To say I was lost was an understatement. I had to completely re-learn myself. Through journaling, and writing poetry and affirmations, I was able to steadily rebuild myself by embracing myself exactly as I was, and as I did the work, I knew others would relate to my process and story so I started The Liberated Soul Movement to be the vehicle that I shared my story and message through.

Today, The Liberated Soul Movement is a community that encourages people to be unapologetically unafraid to be themselves. That is people can become mentally free by embracing themselves exactly as they are and refusing to accept any mindset or expectation that doesn’t align with that.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has definitely been a rollercoaster of a ride. One of the struggles I hit was a lack of clarity of direction. I started out printing shirts to get the brand message out, but as it grew, I knew the brand was for the community, so it’s been work to shape and configure it so it could reach the people it needed to.

The Liberated Soul Movement – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Liberated Soul Movement is known for being a space where everyone can be unapologetically unafraid to be themselves. The message is spread in three ways: by our original t-shirt line, regular open mics, and now through the owner, Amber J’s, new book ‘ I Fit Out: Chronicles of an Unapologetic Misfit.’

I am most proud of the warm and open energy TLSM puts out into whatever space it occupies which makes my brand stands apart for its true authenticity.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment so is the publishing of my first book, I Fit Out: Chronicles of an Unapologetic Misfit. It’s a compilation of poetic stories and affirmations that speak to the emotional and mental struggles we face on our journey to finding our true identity.
