Ambi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
This may come as a surprise to many but I did not begin this venture with the intention of having my own business, it was something the universe sort of put in my lap. With the assistance of my nearest and dearest allies and many hours of experiments, I crafted something short of a miracle.
The increasing demand for my concoction seemed to have forced my hand; I was so unprepared for what was happening that I started off selling Pretty Biznez beauty cream in Chinese food soup containers.
Taking stock of how far Pretty Biznez has come I feel blessed. This is why I work incessantly, it is my main priority to make this brand the best that it can possibly be for all of my clients and supporters who entrust me with something so deeply personal and I am forever grateful for the opportunity. Before embarking upon this journey I spent a lot of time thinking about the what if’s because I knew that I was capable of so much more; I was what you might call a diamond in the rough. My deeply rooted spirituality assured me there was more to life than what was my everyday reality, so when opportunity came knocking at my door I knew it was meant to be.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
During the startup phase of the company, I was still a member of Corporate America; despite many challenges I climbed the ladder receiving several promotions along the way. With these promotions came increased responsibility! The demands of a 9-5, tending to my family and building my brand all became exhausting. Every area of my life began to suffer; it was then that I made the difficult decision to resign from my career of 14.5 years so that I could fully commit to the demands of Pretty Biznez.
It didn’t take me long to realize that this was the missing component, Now I was able to leave a larger imprint on my brand and turn my company into the empire of my dream. With an OCD like level of perfectionism, I put myself in the shoes of my clients and I began making several changes I thought I’d appreciate if I were a consumer of my own product. So, Long gone are the days of handwritten shipping labels and the oh so famous soup containers. In search of a better way of doing things we began utilizing silk printed jars and automatic batch printing. Our most recent rebranding initiative demands that production be moved from our privately owned laboratory to an outsourced manufacturing and packaging contract to provide expeditious customer service. The Pretty Biznez packaging also received another makeover; having transitioned from jars to bottles.
Pretty Biznez – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Since 2014 I have nurtured this company from a seed of my imagination to the gloriously blooming brand that Pretty Biznez has now become. In the beginning, I was only servicing Atlanta based clientele, but it wasn’t very long before I began selling to customers nationwide in just about every state thanks to social media. Now it amazes me to think that we have also shipped to over 42 countries worldwide.
My emphasis on beauty is not limited to the surface of one’s skin, but more so feeling pretty from deep within. I want to motivate people with the knowledge and products necessary to change their skincare routines for the better. I like to think of myself as a builder of esteem, helping others to know that they are worth it! I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing some of my clients transform from the inside out while using Pretty Biznez becoming fierce and unstoppable. As the saying goes when you feel good you look good; however, I like to say when you look good… you feel even better!
Pretty Biznez beauty cream was always the main staple of the brand, but as we have expanded our product line to include soaps, sunscreen, facial cleansing brushes, cloths and even a serum all bearing the company logo we are so much more than just a cream. Pretty Biznez has become a one stop shop to facilitate everything needed for glowing skin.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Our most noteworthy achievement is that Pretty Biznez beauty cream is now available to private label distributors and wholesale buyers. This is something I am especially proud of as Pretty Biznez has opened the door to success for entrepreneurs in different markets; allowing them to sell Pretty Biznez in a way that would benefit them the most!
