Meet Amy Dayries of Whole Healing Dental & Amy Dayries, Aesthetic and Integrative Dentistry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Dayries.

Amy M. Dayries, D.M.D. has practiced general dentistry in Roswell (near where she grew up) since 1996, after graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and having attended Emory University (majoring in Chemistry) for her undergraduate work. Dr. Dayries is passionate about smile design, health, and nutrition, and she prefers to take a natural, holistic or biologic (Integrative) approach to care when possible. Patient health and satisfaction are her ultimate goals. Dr. Dayries has focused her family practice on dental function and esthetics such as bonding and veneers for years, but she also developed an appreciation that elements and compounds compatible for one patient may aggravate sensitivities or allergies in another patient. She realizes that appreciating and educating about the overall health of her patients is a large part of helping a patient obtain their most radiant, aesthetic smile.

Her own personal experiences with lead and mercury toxicity and experiences as a mother and Girl Scout Leader sparked Dr. Dayries’ passion for nutritional counseling and the herbal arts. Dr. Dayries often recommends lifestyle choices as part of a regimen to improve oral and systemic health to patients.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a female dentist in a predominantly male field -which is now changing- has sometimes been a challenge. Also, pursuing a more natural or biological way of conducting dentistry is also sometimes a re-education process for many patients and dental colleagues alike that must be conducted as part of presenting treatment.

Please tell us about Whole Healing Dental & Amy Dayries, Aesthetic and Integrative Dentistry.
I am the author of the book: Solve Your Sleep for Better Health: Get to the Core of Your Snore, which is currently available on Amazon Kindle and will be in print in January 2020. This book offers the consumer a step-wise approach to addresses sleep issues from a variety of causes.

I am the only dentist currently in the Atlanta metro area who has Vivos Integrative Practice, is an ALF and Healthy Start Provider. These appliances all offer a new generation of sleep appliances which can remodel the patient’s airway size and therefore greatly address the cause of sleep issues.

Also, I am the only dentist who has completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine from the Academy of Integrative Medicine (a two years degree) in the Southeast, which enables me to offer a space for people with special medical concerns.

I have also completed a Fellowship in Herbal Medicine for Health Care providers to be able to appreciate when natural remedies can be effective for aiding wellness.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I always wanted to be a dentist. I would have probably listened to my gut earlier and lived in less fear than I have done thus far.
