Meet Ana Curiel & Angelo Garrido of Casa AnKan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Curiel & Angelo Garrido

Ana & Angelo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Casa AnKan began as a passion project fueled by a deep appreciation for art and design. Based in Miami and Atlanta, we set out to create a gallery that serves as a bridge between talented artists and designers from around the world and clients seeking meaningful, collectible pieces. From the outset, we focused on curating unique and limited-edition designs that tell stories of craftsmanship, culture, and individuality.

Our journey has been defined by building partnerships with emerging and established talents who share our vision of pushing the boundaries of design. Along the way, we’ve embraced opportunities to showcase our collection at prestigious events, such as COLLECTIBLE in New York and to host pop-up galleries that bring our mission to life in new and exciting ways.

As a startup, we’ve navigated challenges by staying true to our values and continuously seeking innovative ways to connect with the design community and clients. Today, Casa AnKan is proud to be a platform for designers and artists to shine and for clients to discover pieces that resonate with them on a personal level.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been anything but smooth, but that’s what has shaped Casa AnKan into what it is today. As a start-up, we’ve faced the inevitable challenges of establishing our name in a highly competitive industry.
Another challenge has been building trust and partnerships in an industry where reputation is key. As a young gallery, we’ve had to work hard to prove our vision, values, and ability to deliver exceptional experiences for both designers and clients. Balancing the need to invest in opportunities, such as participating in international fairs, while being mindful of financial constraints, has also been a constant learning curve.

Despite these challenges, the journey has been rewarding. Each obstacle has pushed us to innovate, build stronger relationships, and stay committed to our mission of creating a platform where design and craftsmanship can thrive.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Casa AnKan is a collectible design gallery dedicated to curating unique and limited-edition pieces that blend art and design to tell meaningful stories. Based in Miami and Atlanta, we work with talented artists and designers from around the world, offering a platform to showcase their creativity while connecting clients with extraordinary works that resonate deeply and personally.

What sets us apart is our focus on craftsmanship, individuality, and the stories behind each piece. We believe that design is more than aesthetics, it’s about creating connections and celebrating the culture and artistry of our time. Each piece in our collection is carefully chosen to reflect these values, offering clients not just an object but a timeless experience.

We are most proud of our ability to serve as a bridge, bringing together global talents and clients who appreciate the artistry and vision behind every creation. Casa AnKan is committed to elevating design as a form of expression that transcends borders, traditions, and trends.

At Casa AnKan, we want people to know that we stand for thoughtful curation, meaningful connections, and the celebration of design as a reflection of individuality and culture.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, we anticipate big shifts in the collectible design industry, driven by the intersection of technology, sustainability, and evolving consumer values. Customers are increasingly looking for pieces that are not only visually stunning but also ethically produced and environmentally conscious. As a result, we see a growing emphasis on sustainable materials, circular design practices, and transparency in the creation process.
Technology is also transforming how people discover and interact with design. Virtual and augmented reality are opening new doors for showcasing pieces and creating immersive, digital-first experiences. We also believe that blockchain and digital certificates of authenticity are likely to play a larger role in verifying provenance and ensuring trust in collectible pieces.
Another trend is the rising appreciation for craftsmanship and storytelling. As mass production continues to dominate certain industries, customers are seeking out pieces that feel personal, handmade, and rooted in culture. Collectible design will continue to be about more than just objects, it will become a way for individuals to express values, and taste.
