Today we’d like to introduce you to Anaya Lovenote.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Anaya. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Although I love Atlanta, I am originally not from there. I moved from Texas to Atlanta in 2015 to pursue a career in singing and modeling. Once I moved to Atlanta, I finally found my second home. I lived in Atlanta for almost four years before moving to Los Angeles. I grew to love Atlanta and the support that they give. Growing up in foster care, I had to find some way to cope with all of the things I was going through as a child. I started listening to artists like Monica, Whitney Houston, etc. When I would listen to their songs I could feel how they were feeling as if I was in the room with them. At that point, I knew music was for me. The way a song could change your mood and give you hope was amazing to me. It was a feeling I couldn’t see myself without.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been easy at all but that’s exactly what makes everything worth it in the end. You have to start somewhere and most importantly faith is something you strongly have to have. This is something I’ll never forget. One of my celebrity friends told me, “even slow progress is still progress.” In this industry, everything won’t be perfect but I have to remind myself to keep ongoing.
Please tell us about your work.
I’m an R&B singer/songwriter who has a new single titled “Secure the Bag” featuring Chanel West Coast and the Ying Yang Twins. I’m very proud of the growth I’ve had as an artist. This can range from developing my image, creating my sound, and the patience I’ve grown as a person. Putting myself as a figure that makes me a more marketable artist that can be taken seriously by those who have already made it in the industry has truly been the best part. I have seen myself grow from performing at small events to being given the chance to do an opening performance at the upcoming Millenium Tour.
I think the story of my upbringing in the foster care system and how I am open to sharing my story to inspire others is something that sets me apart from the rest. Not only that, but my personality has a mind of its own so it adds character to my music. I’m always positive and humble, having a happy mindset is very important to me. I feel that a strong and driven mindset will take anyone far but to make people fall in love with you as a person is not a gift everyone has.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to opening for the Ying Yang Twins at The Millenium Tour. I’m also looking forward to other upcoming projects for this year. Although I’m not expecting any major changes, I am expecting to grow even more than I have in 2019. My plans for the future are to eventually be signed by a label and to continue making music for my fans.
