Meet Andrew Bagley of Next LVL Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Bagley.

Andrew, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m not one of those photographers who grew up with a camera in their hand or knew it was their passion at an early age. In fact, I wasn’t even introduced to photography in a serious manner until my late 20’s. I was brought into the world of photography through my wife and business partner Karen. She is an amazing local photographer here too and it was through her passion and work ethic that brought me into the world of photography. When she first started taking photography seriously, she would take an online course and head to conferences to learn. I would always watch and travel with her.

Through this, I learned, saw so much, and my self begins to develop my own passion for photography. Going to all these classes and seminars, I saw there was still such a need for people with a different eye and a new perspective. I began experimenting with my wife’s help and guidance. I tried all sorts of different types of photography but always landed back to headshot and branding photography. See I also love marketing and a headshot is one of the ultimate tools people use when they market themselves. It’s the first thing people generally see when they look someone. It sets the first impression people have of you for a long time. I also saw that the world of headshot photography was very “the same” or ‘standard.” People deserved better and I wanted to be there to help them. That’s how I got my start and found my passion. It mixed two worlds of marketing and photography together. It gives me a chance to help others show off the best version themself and market themselves in whole new ways. My goal for everyone is to be taken to the Next LvL and I will continue to help as many as I can with my photography to do just that.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would say learning from scratch wasn’t easy. A lot of photographers have been doing it their whole life and here I come later in life trying to change the game. But I had to be patient and learn. Learn how to pose others, how to work settings, how to use all the gear, how to light people, how to edit, how to sell. I had to find my own path and not just photograph like others were. I wanted to make things new. So Would say be patient and perfecting my craft were to challenges I faced.
