Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew (Drewski) Brown.
Andrew (Drewski), let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Originally from Memphis Tennessee, I moved to Atlanta two years ago to pursue my love of filmmaking. Comfortable now, my first film “Plucked” has been completed and is currently on a festival run. My producer, Kiah, and I worked for months to get it done and are excited about the results! I can’t wait to release my next line of projects.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first moved to Atlanta, I only had a very small savings. I lived with my sister in Chattanooga for a year and drove an hour-thirty three times a week to network. Eventually, I was able to afford an apartment by working every odd jobs and taking a lot of freelance gigs. It was such a culture shock I had no family or friends nearby, but it showed me how to be at peace with myself and my journey for success.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My goal is to tell stories visually for my generation. Being in my late twenties, I think I have had the chance to grow up at a very interesting time. I’m able to witness technology, COVID, discrimination, and internet clout all in one. One day when I’m older and my grandkids and youth ask me about growing up in this era I want them to be able to point to my films.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My most important quality to my success is my resilience. I have been through every emotion trying to make my dreams come true, but at the end of the day it’s absolutely worth it.
