Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Newell.
Andrew, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a second generation agent, I grew up around the business but it wasn’t until my senior year at Kennesaw State that I realized I that I had no interest in simply punching a clock for 40 hours a week. The truth is I work far more than 40 hours a week, often after normal business hours but I love what I do and the people I get to help in the process.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! Ask any other Real Estate professional the same question and I’m sure you’d get a very similar response. As with any career, the first year is always the hardest and it takes a while to really get dialed in on your expertise.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Andrew Newell story. Tell us more about the business.
I’ve been with a few different brokerages over the years but last April I was brought into Coldwell Banker to start a team. Everyone on our team has their own specialty ranging from Luxury home sales to condos. My niche happens to be in the commercial sector with a focus on raw land and development.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t necessarily believe in luck, good or bad. There are hard work and determination but sometimes deals fall apart and you have to roll with it. It’s much easier to negotiate when you’re not emotionally attached to the outcome.
