Meet Angedith Poggi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angedith Poggi.

Angedith Poggi

Hi Angedith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from Puerto Rico, I am a first-generation college graduate and professional Latina. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics from the University of Puerto Rico.

In 2018, I was offered an amazing job opportunity that required me to relocate to Atlanta, GA from Washington, DC. After completing a Doctor of Health Sciences with a focus on Education and Global Health from Nova Southeastern University in 2021, I decided to establish a business to serve as an Academic and Professional Success Consultant. My mission is to empower first-generation college students in their academic and professional journeys through digital resources, mentoring, and workshops.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life can be full of challenges, but I believe in focusing on the opportunities that present themselves and maintaining a positive attitude. It’s important to recognize that there are always factors beyond our control, but we can always be prepared for the ones we can control. I have had many struggles along the way and I’ll share two examples in this interview. Learning English as an adult wasn’t easy, but I stuck with it and worked hard to improve my language skills. Another particularly difficult time in my life was my divorce at the age of 28. Despite the fact that it was a painful experience, I chose to focus on the opportunity for personal growth and self-reflection.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an Academic and Professional Success Consultant, I help individuals, especially Latino first-generation students, achieve their academic and professional goals through individual sessions, mentoring programs, and workshops. I offer personalized services to graduate students struggling to finish their thesis or dissertation. I am excited about launching a program that guides graduate students to follow my framework to finish their research proposal or dissertation in less than four months.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Yes, I’m always willing to collaborate with people who are passionate about helping others, especially in their academic and professional endeavors. I can be contacted via email (admin@angedithpoggi.com) or my social media platforms (IG: @angedithpoggi and LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angedith-poggi/
