Today we’d like to introduce you to Angee Melange & Candace Mabry, Hosts Of The Pretty Purposeful Podcast Pretty Purposeful Podcast.

Hi Angee Melange & Candace Mabry, Hosts of the Pretty Purposeful Podcast , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Angee:
Pretty Purposeful Podcast really started from my own life experiences growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was always referred to as “pretty” for as long as I could remember, but my talents, my intelligence, and the deeper parts of who I was were overlooked. I realized early that if I didn’t define myself beyond what people could see, the world would do it for me.

I moved to Georgia in 2018, bringing with me not just my testimony of overcoming adversity, but a desire to build a life and a platform rooted in purpose, faith, and resilience. I launched the Pretty Purposeful Podcast in 2022 with the goal of using my story to uplift, educate, and inspire others who were going through their own battles — to show them that if I could push through and live a life rooted in purpose, they could too.

Candace:
I’m a Georgia native with a background in Human Resource Management, and I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and creating meaningful content. In 2023, what I thought was just a regular Lyft ride with Angee ended up being anything but ordinary. From the moment we started talking, it felt like a divine connection. We realized we were aligned in so many ways — our values, our vision, and our passion for creating meaningful content. Even though we come from different generations and backgrounds, there was a natural synergy. Angee has this soulful, seasoned perspective, and I bring a fresher, Gen Z lens — together, we realized we could bridge a lot of gaps and reach a lot of different audiences.

Angee:
We decided to rebrand and relaunch the podcast together in 2024. Pretty Purposeful Podcast isn’t just about having conversations, it’s about creating space for real, raw, healing dialogue that crosses generational lines and cultural boundaries.

Candace:
We’re still growing and evolving, but everything we do is rooted in intention. We want people to know that wherever they are in life, their story matters, their purpose matters, and they deserve to walk boldly in it.

Angee:
Exactly. Everything we do is — and always will be — on purpose, with purpose, for a greater purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Angee:
For me, balancing life while launching and growing the podcast has been a real stretch at times. I’m a mom, a healthcare leader by day, and my daughter was finishing high school and preparing for college during all of this. So my priorities were split between making sure she was supported while also pouring energy into the podcast. There were definitely moments when it felt overwhelming, but when you’re trying to create something meaningful, you have to be really intentional with your time, your energy, and your mental bandwidth.

Candace:
And for me, my challenges looked a little different. I don’t have children, but I do travel a lot for work, and trying to maintain balance between my career, my personal life, and being fully present for the podcast has been an adjustment. The podcast requires constant communication, a lot of behind-the-scenes planning, and a huge amount of consistency.
Even though Angee and I are at different stages of life, we had to build a lot of trust, learning how to support each other’s pace, show up when it mattered, and stay committed to the bigger vision.

Angee:
At the end of the day, what’s made it work is that we both understand that purpose isn’t always convenient. You have to choose it. You have to keep showing up, even when it’s not easy — and that’s what we’ve done.

Candace:
It’s definitely been a journey. But it’s been worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Angee:
Outside of the podcast, I’m a singer-songwriter, actress, healthcare manager, and entrepreneur. I’ve been fortunate to win awards for my singing, and even sang the national anthem for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but what I’m most proud of is being a mom.

Candace:
Professionally, I’m a Regional Recruiter for a leading automotive company, with a strong background in building relationships and creating engaging, meaningful content. Those skills have carried over into the podcast, helping us shape conversations that really resonate across different spaces.

Angee:
What sets Pretty Purposeful Podcast apart is the intentionality behind everything we do. We’re not chasing trends or clout. We’re moving with purpose, thinking forward, and creating content that’s meant to uplift and amplify voices that are not often heard.

Candace:
Yes, PPP is not about making the most noise. It’s about being the most authentic. And that’s what makes sets us apart.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Angee:
Funny enough, we just did a whole episode on this. For me, success isn’t about how fast you get there, its about having a solid foundation and the journey. The world pushes this idea that success is about numbers and visibility. But real success, to me, is about alignment. Remaining true to who you are, your purpose, and doing the work with integrity. I’d rather build something slow and meaningful than rush into something that lacks substance.

Candace:
I feel the same way. Success isn’t about being flashy or flexin’ for the ‘gram. To me its the quiet wins, the consistency, the growth you can’t always see right away. We live in a world that celebrates viral moments and overnight success, but the truth is, most real success comes from planting seeds in good soil, cultivating it with purpose, and not being afraid to take a leap of faith.

Angee:
For the podcast, we defining our success by the lives we touch, the conversations we spark, and the community we’re building — not by clout or numbers. Purpose over perfection and popularity.

Candace:
Exactly. If we stay aligned with why we started, the impact will speak for itself.
