Angel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started making content when I was pregnant with my first son and it evolved into more comedic reviews, vlogs, and lifestyle videos. I continued making content when I realized there was a need for authentic voices of color.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think I’ve gotten onto a road as of yet. I am still in a forest trying to find my way out. However, I don’t mind the view. But I think that is what makes content creating so difficult, yet so magical, at the same time. You have to create your own path. There isn’t one laid out for you. But I can say that after 11 years of creating content, I am clear on the direction that I want to travel.
Please tell us about That Chick Angel.
That Chick Angel is a raw and authentic look at parenthood through a humorous lens. I create podcasts, video content, and merchandise geared towards self-love, easy living, and helping women fulfill their purpose in life.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory is going to King’s Dominion with my family and making music videos at the park. My sister and I performed Whitney Houston’s ‘The Greatest Love of All’ and thought that we were Whitney herself!
