Meet Angela Chandler of Soul Food and Trap Music in Huntsville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Chandler.

Angela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been cooking since my teenage years. I wanted to start a food blog but was honestly too scared to do it. My friends encouraged me to do it, so I did. My blog is what reminds me of home, (Mobile, AL) Soul Food and Trap Music – I remember days afterschool being in the kitchen with my aunt and she’d fry chicken while bumpin UGK or being in the kitchen with my mom and she’s making cornbread dressing and blasting James Brown – I know he isn’t trap, but music just makes cooking so much more fun for me. Shortly after beginning my food blog, people began asking me to cook for them. So the whole meal prep and catering came from friends and strangers that truly enjoy my food. You can find me at www.soulfoodandtrapmusic.com. I am also on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, be sure to subscribe!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth. The hardest is just trying to determine pricing without shortchanging myself, figuring out the best packaging for customer meals, creating a great menu, and most of all, believing in myself, but over time those things came and I thank all of my supporters!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Soul Food and Trap Music – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I offer meal prep and catering in Huntsville, AL. What makes me proud of my company is most of my menu is made from scratch. Example: My cheesecakes from the crust to the topping, everything is made from scratch. All my garlic mashed potatoes are made from scratch. All of my vegetables are fresh, never from a can. Scratch-made items take time, patience, love, and knowledge. I truly pride myself on knowing I’m making quality products.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As of July 6th Soul Food and Trap Music is offering online ordering so customers will not have to order through DM via Social media. You can order at www.SoulFoodandTrapMusic.com. I have so many other things I am working on, but I won’t speak on at this time. It’ll be great and I’m excited!
