Meet Aniyah Stone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aniyah Stone.

Aniyah Stone

Hi Aniyah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a rising senior at The Atlanta Girls school. After a field trip to a private equity firm in downtown Atlanta, I was brave enough to make a connection with the Head of Diversity & Social Responsibility, After seeing my enthusiasm, confidence and creative ideas, what started off as a shadow opportunity, actually turned into a real paid junior internship at just 16 years old (now 17), I spent my summer working inside of the King and Spaulding building in midtown Atlanta, working on the 25th floor in my own assigned office. Although, this internship didn’t exist before, my bravery was rewarded with unexpected connections.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting new things is rarely a smooth transition. The idea of having to adjust to being in the corporate world from 9-5 was scary With the support of the amazing and resourceful workers I felt as if I belonged at the table inside of the board room.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In addition to my journey into the corporate business world at only sixteen years old, I am also a actress. I am most proud of booking my first SAG short film principal role at 11 years old where anyone could have landed the role, but they chose me.

What’s next?
My experience on set has opened me up to wanting to own my own production company when I am older. I want to give opportunities to people who look like me with the same go get it attitude. Working on diversity projects in the corporate world helped fuel my drive on representing EVERYONE in any career. I am taking what I learned to create a socially and culturally aware environment.
