Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Barbier.
Anna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always loved photography. I’m sure that’s what every photographer says is the beginning of their story. But I do, I love it. And I think that’s what matters.
I started photographing when my family bought our first digital camera in 2002. I was 12 years old and photographed every single thing. My photos were over edited like you wouldn’t believe but I loved them. I had found a form of expression that I couldn’t explain.
College came around and I tried to pursue photography as my degree path. This was a dead end as I cannot draw or paint, which was required of all art students. So, I chose a different path and carried my camera a little less.
I graduated with my degree in International Affairs and married the love of my life, Marc. As Marc was finishing up his master’s degree we decided it was time for me to quit my part-time job and really pursue photography. Months of prayers and tears (and possibly a quarter-life identity crisis) led to my first paid gig. As I drove to the gig, I said “Lord, you bring the work if it’s what you want for us.” I really had not come to terms with the fact that I would be yet another white girl with a camera in my small town of Woodstock, GA. But very quickly the Lord began to bring the work. Brides and grooms began to book and our business took off!
We then realized that we needed Marc to be a major part of this business if we ever wanted to see each other on the weekends and forego the cost of paying a second shooter for every wedding.
Marc, with his degrees in mathematics and his background in music, was a perfect fit and suddenly exploded with talent. He learned his camera quickly and began to build up the Film (video) side of our business.
Some 100 + weddings later, we find ourselves looking back on our blessings and trials and thanking God that we have the opportunity to work together and work toward helping each bride and groom enjoy their wedding day to the fullest.
Working with a spouse can be trying for some but for us, it’s just right. We love spending as much time together as we can and we LOVE seeing people begin their new journey of marriage. I couldn’t do this without Marc.
Fun fact – we bought an RV and moved into it in the winter of 2016 and began to travel the country for a year + photographing and having the time of our lives!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a fairly smooth road. We found early on that if you spend yourself for your brides and grooms on their wedding day, you see amazing results. It’s just one day – give it all you got!
We try to remember to treat our brides and grooms as we would want to be treated. We get tired, we encounter wedding days that try our patience but overall, it’s been pretty amazing!
We’ve learned from our mistakes and moved on in our business.

We may have some pretty big plans for the future of our business. We love farming and we love florals – who knows where that may take us but we look forward to bringing all our passions together!
