Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Gambrell.
“Purposed to Live” by Anthony Ray Gambrell is a deeply personal story about Gambrell’s fight for life as he boldly navigated through one of the most frightening, unfamiliar times anyone could experience with their precious health. Battling the odds to live, Gambrell held steady to his faith and prepared to defeat the enemy holding him back from the life he once knew. To go back to the life he once knew and loved – a life filled with family, friends, a thriving career, and new travel experiences – Gambrell needed to do the impossible and somehow defy his odds to survive.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to recovery was definitely a challenging experience. I had to learn how to walk, talk, and write all over again. Not being able to do the simple things in life was so frustrating. I couldn’t take showers on my own, drive, take a long walk, cook, or just do everyday things on my own. I was determined not to have to live my life like that.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My hope is to be a source of inspiration for others who may find themselves in similar situation. The odds were stacked up against me but I made it out alive. I thankful to be able to share my story and to be a testament of determination, faith, healing, and God’s wonderful favor.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Looking back on my experience, I would definitely have paid attention to the signs. I ignored things that I should’ve paid more attention to that maybe could’ve prevented this terrifying experience.
