Today we’d like to introduce you to ANTHONY WILSON.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A talented and accomplished songwriter and performer hailing from Midway, GA, and currently based in Atlanta, is actively collaborating with various artists. He is also in the process of completing his upcoming EP, “Love Affair,” slated for release in the near future. D’Shon commenced his musical journey at the tender age of five, singing in church alongside his grandmother and uncle. By the age of 14, he began composing his own music, and at 18, he initiated recording and performing in his hometown of Hinesville, GA, in close proximity to Midway, GA. At 19, D’Shon’s performance career led him to seek new opportunities, prompting his relocation to Atlanta at the age of 24. This move provided him with a deeper understanding of the music industry beyond live performance, inspiring him to establish his own venture, “IKMG” (Internationally Known Muzik Group). IKMG serves as a foundational, leadership-driven, and comprehensive resource for emerging artists and musicians who demonstrate a strong work ethic, dedication, and a profound understanding of musical artistry. D’Shon has also shared the stage with esteemed artists such as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Rose Royce, Lloyd, Future, K. Michelle, Rocko, Sleepy Brown, Nivea, Monica, Jazzy Pha, Kandi Burruss (Xscape & The Real Housewives of Atlanta), among others. His notable appearances include two performances at the world-renowned Apollo Theater in New York in 2013, and a performance at Six Flags (Holiday in the Park) in 2014. D’Shon is unequivocally an emerging artist deserving of significant attention.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In light of the challenges presented by daily life, career stagnation, and economic fluctuations, I made the decision to establish Wilson & Co. Pressure Washing, LLC., which I have successfully operated for the past nine and a half years. This venture has enabled me to cultivate a comfortable lifestyle, affording me the opportunity to re-engage with my passion for music. candidly, I also perceived a decline in the R&B genre, characterized by a lack of artist visibility and pervasive gatekeeping.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an R&B singer, songwriter, and performer, and I totally think of myself as a southern gentleman. Plus, I figured out my purpose is to bring people, dreams, and reality together.
How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t necessarily say I believe in good luck or bad luck, but rather in divine blessings and protection.
