Today we’d like to introduce you to Apostle Deborah Sheppard.
Apostle Deborah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
How I started, Ministry was a passion; personally, my pains bumped into my purpose; I wasn’t trying to do anything, but God has this beautiful mapped out a plan called life, and we all are apart of it. I was always passionate about the Word of God; however, I never vision myself as Senior Pastor more less as Owner-Operator of my ministry!
A Master Cosmetologist of 27 years, I was skilled in conversing with others, I could get others through whatever problems they seemed to have, but I was hurting. I knew there was a better life; however, I did not seem to understand how to get there. I am not going to tell you it was easy finding me or finding my place here, so crazy what God has this perfect plan, and I knew that someway I fit it this plan. Life experiences weren’t always right, I bled a lot in my life, and I never wanted anyone who was suffering from bleeding without support.
Because of this, I created a women empowerment session called Sister2Sister Tailor Made. This session allows career women, and regular women to come together with a shared platform to empower one another. I believe to every woman another woman is waiting to walk her through the next phase of life. Patience is the KEY; we must remain patient for our turn, and time; hurrying is not an opinion. God’s master plan is precise, so we have to master waiting.
Today, I have written my first single-authored book, “The Essence of Spiritual Disciple.” I co-authored in “Junia Arise,” Anthology piece with 49 other amazing women. Now, my husband and I just finished with our first book together called, “ReBound,” coming out this year in March.
I am an entrepreneur by nature. I own several businesses, Women Clothes, Jewelry, Tax Company, An Author, hoping to release my first worship CD this year. God created me to lead by example; I am a Purpose-Life Coach, Financial Coach, and I have a 40 Day Journey Healing Project. There is so much more coming forth; God is not finished with me yet, I have crazy faith I believe God.
I open doors for others; this is my 2nd year hosting the Word Network at our Church in Newnan GA. For other hidden and gifted voices. I believe the world hasn’t yet to see God’s true Glory until you open a door for someone else. Blessing Apostle Deborah.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, I’ve had plenty of sad as well as challenging days. There are days I did not want to continue. Financially we were broke, and we had this massive vision with NO MONEY! I am a dreamer, and I believe if you dream long enough you, yourself will accept it and some way it comes true. We must have moved four times before we purchased our new church home. It was stressful, but we kept integrity. No salary but all the bills paid, God ensures us things would be more significant.
My son complained of being at church all the time. The did not like me being a Pastor because I did not know how to place things in proper order. My husband complained, saying take a break; he wanted more family time; we were newlyweds with a brand-new Jobs called Pastors. So there were no smooth roads at this time, we were dysfunctional (Laugh), quit was my word of the Day, but Quitting wasn’t an option, but it sounded good at the time. All three of my sons were in sports, so juggling ministry, business, and my family were challenging at times. Prayer was and is my key to success in that season.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Unveiling Word Ministries story. Tell us more about your work.
I am Woman after God’s own heart, I am an International preacher, by nature a prayer strategist. I am a Counselor, Event Planner, Conference Planner, Purpose-life Coach, Financial Coach, Master Cosmetologist. Christian Educator. I am Known best for supporting others in their endeavors, spiritually, financially, and emotionally.
I am most proud of as a company, we support single women, and single men with children, financially, and physically, we help the homelessness in our city, Our Back to School clothes, and backpack program, and our Christmas Project where we adopt children, orphans in our city, and Jerusalem. What sets me apart from others, I make sure the unknown become known!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The next 5 to 10 years, I am in preparation of building our 20,000sq Family Life Vision Center, next year, building a home for women and children, creating counseling programs of Drug addicted people and housing program for those that are homeless. Becoming a sportsman for abused women. Creating my own clothing brand, and becoming the best Christian, Wife, Mother, and Leader, in Jesus Name.
