Today we’d like to introduce you to April Potter.
April, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a Nurse over the last 19 years, I’ve seen too many people die from the complications of diabetes. I felt helpless as I was coming to them at the end of their life. The majority of my nursing career has been spent supporting people as they come to terms with saying goodbye to loved ones. The most frustrating part is that I know diabetes can be controlled and even reversed. This was the catalyst that inspired me to start my company, Sweet ReSolve, which is dedicated to helping people fight diabetes before it takes over their lives.
My overall goal is to spread a message of hope. To those who have been given a diagnosis of diabetes or pre-diabetes, it is not a death sentence, you do not have to do it alone. I can help you find your path to sweet success.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had to learn to move out of my way. I formed the company four years ago but was too afraid to start. It was not until January 2020 I decided to trust God and do it.
For those of us who have become accustomed to a steady paycheck trusting God and stepping out of our comfort zone is always the hard part. So no, things have not been easy for me but God is showing his Grace sufficient every step of the way.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a Transformational Nutrition Coach who specializes in diabetes. I am proud that my company is set to work within the community. I am currently providing free education via 4 hour seminars within churches across the country. We are different because we take a holistic approach to this disease. All of my programs address the mind, body, and spirit.
As a Nutritional Coach I am an extra layer of support between the client and the primary care physician. I am a well educated cheer leader who wants nothing more than to see my clients win.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very outgoing. I played softball, basketball, and flute in the band. I enjoyed school and got along with everybody. I never planned to be a nurse or anything in the healthcare field. For that matter, I wanted to be a lawyer. I have always enjoyed reading and writing.
I got into the health field because I found that I enjoyed helping people. I have made it my life’s work and am all the better for it.
