Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Skin.
Ari, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started taking photos forever ago. But I can say I started taking it slightly serious when I was 18 and applied to go to the Art Institute of Atlanta for undergrad (which wasn’t a good fit). I learned a lot technically speaking, but not so much in real-world application.
From there I fumbled and when to good old GPC which is now apart of Georgia State University, and I sat in traditional art classes from art history to drawing self-portraits, and live figures. Then it was time to move to the photography portion of the program and the head of the department told me that it wouldn’t be worth it and I should look into The Creative Circus.
And The Creative Circus is where everything kind of got pushed into high gear, I learned how to network with more creatives in the advertising world, as well as finding my place in it. Don’t get me wrong I’m still work in progress but it’s going!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all, as I said I’m a work in progress. And as a creative everything is forever changing. So I’m learning to adapt to the industry and my self so that I can keep working and doing what I love to do!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ari Skin Photos story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in Fashion and beauty photography and I think what sets me apart is just being me because in this world someone is always better than you or cheaper. So if someone reaches out to me I just put my best foot forward and hope I leave a good impression!
