Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Chedgy.
Ariana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for makeup… ever since I was little, I can remember playing dress up and using my mom’s makeup to “complete my look”. This interest continued into my teens, working at my parent’s spa and salon as a receptionist/assistant and later as a makeup artist. I continued to work in the industry at a local spa while attaining my bachelor’s degree, but dreamed of having the time and resources to run my own business.
Upon graduating college and completing my cosmetology licensing, I started Make Me Up, an on-site hair + makeup company that specialized in Weddings. I identified the substantial stress placed upon the bridal party, having to travel to a salon in preparation for their special day, and decided that an onsite service would allow them to enjoy the process at their venue, home, or hotel. By making customer service and professionalism paramount to my business philosophy, I have seen Make Me Up grow to what it is today. The Make Me Up team continues to amaze our clients and gain countless referrals. At Make Me Up, our goal is to not only customize a style that suits the bride, but also make them feel special and confident when they walk down the aisle!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Any business owner can attest to the challenges and demands of owning a company, but for me the biggest challenge is to periodically reflect/assess and find new ways to improve. In recent times, the immediate struggles have been managing the volume of inquiries and interest, in a flourishing business. I believe it is essential to find the highest caliber of staff available in order to maintain the quality that Make Me Up is built upon, even if that means having to turn away business.

We also offer educational services in the form of private and group makeup classes and consultations.
Make Me Up additionally recognizes the broad spectrum in wedding sizes and will never neglect or refuse service to smaller bridal parties or individuals seeking to be pampered on their special day.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, every day and every client have been a blessing.
